Can i wear a cream-colored skirt before memorial day?

i'm going to my boyfriend's little sister's first communion this weekend, so i need to look churchy and cute (first time meeting the fam!). i have a lightweight cotton bubble skirt that's cream colored. i know you're not supposed to wear white on the bottom half of your body before memorial day, but what about cream? i was planning on wearing a mint green top and possibly a black or brown cardigan with matching heels. thanks! Can i wear a cream-colored skirt before memorial day?
Those are stupid fashion rules. If it looks good, fits the occasion and the weather, and looks stylish it doesn't matter what day it is. Wear it! And good luck with his parents! Can i wear a cream-colored skirt before memorial day?
cream is sometimes called winter white. It would be a very appropriate thing to wear to a 1st comunion.
The rule about white applies to white-white, not cream. Wear exactly what you described - you'll look beautiful.

I wear white when I want to. I think therule about no white before Memorial Day and after Labor Day is old-fashioned and silly. Wear whatever you like and be comfortable - it's best if you feel comfortable and confident when meeting the boyfriend's family!
uhmm this is a dumb question....stuuuuuuuuuupppdd
Yeah... as long as it isn't pure white it is okay. Creme color or similiar is usually considered ';winter white'; so it is acceptable.
The whole white thing is more just for shoes. And doesn't really apply today unless you are in the South where they really stick to tradition. Cream is not the same as white, so it should be fine.
uh yes...that's a stupid question. 1. who listens to that crap. 2. who cares. 3. It's not even a white skirt!!
who really cares about what time of year it is as long as it's cute?
Sounds fine to me.

Don't worry about the rules on wearing white or cream on certain days...

Cream and a mint green top sounds very fresh and nice.
