I've started to use ';Boots - Time resisting day/night cream, but it burns? ?
Normally I wash my face with a cleanser and then moisturize with some vitamin e face cream. But a couple of days ago I bought the ';boots'; day/night time resisting creams';. I put it on after i use the toner and before i moisturize. But I feel my face burn. with the new cream. But its extremely important for me taht the day cream tht i use on my face every morning to work should be thick n moisturise my skin well. You need a moisturizer.
The chlorine in the pool water is drying your skin, which--conversely--traps oil and causes blemishes.
Neutrogena soaps and moisturizers are really good and will do the same job as expensive stuff such as Clinique or Aveeno (which are really good, but expensive).
You can get Neutrogena in a Walgreens drug store...ask the cosmetics person to help you, and they will usually know what to suggest.
DO NOT use something like Vaseline Lotions...these have petroleum in them, and they clog the pores, making the problem worse.
HOWEVER, you MIGHT find that if you use Vaseline just before going into the pool, and then remove it after getting out, this may protect your skin from the chlorine.

Hi. My 2 sons ages 12 and 9 swim alot. What I do, is rub baby oil all over them before swimming. After swimming is finished, they shower off, and I rub thick vaseline all over, let it soak in and then use a normal lotion like eucerin.
It works wonders for them, they never get dry skin this way. I used to swim too, I did the same.

Your dry skin is very typical of spending so much time in the water. I cut back my swimming to only 3 or 4 days a week during the winter months. Since you are on a team that is not possible ... I do have some hints.
But FIRST the red blemishes really raised a red flag in my mind. I think you need to see a doctor/dermatologist. My sister in law has a condition called rosacea: which causes redness and blemishes on the face.
Hints on skin care when swimming:
Go easy on soap/shampoo. You have been in the water for a long time you are not dirty. I take a quart bottle of water to the shower room ... The water contains a table spoon of vinegar. I use this on my hair and body to neutralize the chlorine.
Use a mild shampoo every other day. Keep the shampoo off your skin.
I use Bag Balm on feet right after showering and the pool,and wear on a pair of socks for an hour or so.
I also found a body lotion that is clear 100%aloe vera. No perfume and when it dries I do not feel sticky or greasey.
Another hint:.... you are probably in an indoor pool. So you might not think of this one. Before swimming put on a water proof sunscreen or sunblock this will protect your skin.
One of the answers suggested a thin film of vaseline on the face while swimming; my brother does this with no ill effects ... Still if that red rash persists see a doctor before doing this.

for a yeast infection you need to use monistat, or any generic brand of it--they have the cream and caplets things, i would use the cream or both-azo is not going to help you with a yeast infection at all-it if for UTI's..I have a yeast infection. I'm looking for a coconut cream pie recipe. It was in a Women's Day or Family Circle magazine from 1968-1975.
this recipe is similar to it . this comes from my dear aunt Ida .
3/4 c plus 2 tblsp sugar,3tblsp plus 1 tsp cornstarch,1/8 tsp salt,3 egg yolks beaten ,1%26amp;1/2 c half and half,1 c milk,1tblsp butter or margarine,1%26amp;1/2 tsp vanilla extract,3 c coconut ,2tsp lemon juice ,1 9in pie crust ,3/4 c of whipping cream ,1/3 c sifted powdered sugar .
Combine sugar ,cornstarch ,and salt in a heavy saucepan stir well . combine egg yolks,half and half,and milk and beat untill blended. Gradually stir into sugar mixture untill smooth . cook over med heat stirring constantly . transfer to a glass bowl,stir in butter and vanilla . cover with plastic wrap and cool to room temp. take 1 c coconut and toss with lemon juice to prevent browning . arrange the coconut in bottom of pie crust . Pour cooled custard mixture over coconut and cover and chill untill firm . Beat whipping cream and powdered sugar untill stiff peaks form . spread over pie filling . spread coconut if any and arrange on top of pie .

He is a really good technical guitarist. Plays the notes at the right time and puts them in a good sequence, and all that, but a truly GREAT guitarist also has feeling when he plays and clapton has none. I've only heard him play one song where it sounding like there was emotion behind it and obviously there would be because he wrote it for his son.

A lot of bakeries (grocery store ones included) make these giant cookies that are about the size of a pizza. You can have special birthday messages or designs written on them with frosting. I've had these before for my birthday, and if you like cookies, they're very good!

I think you should make (or buy) her whatever her favorite dessert is though. You can probably customize it if you want to make it birthday related. =]

Cookies with icing in the middle: take two soft sugar cookies and spread icing [vanilla] in the middle and roll the outside with sprinkles...even try it without the icing and with peanut butter and/or jelly
Donut ';cake';: Buy a bunch of donuts and stack in pretty pattern like a towel
Pancakes: Make pancakes of all different flavors...good toppings include whipped cream, peanut butter, caramel, pineapples, cherries etc...like a sundae without the ice cream! You could also make waffles
Caramel fondue: Melt caramel in a big pot and dip cut up apples, cut bananas, pieces of pound cake, pretzels, angel food cake, pieces of pancakes or waffles, mini donuts, peanut butter cookies

When it's cool, cover it with a can of frosting, then decorate it with slices of fruit (include exotics like kiwi), coconut, sweet chips, whatever they would like.
You might also be able to make this into an activity for the party, if there are only a few participants: make as many large cookies as there are attendees and let them decorate their own.

A lot of bakeries (grocery store ones included) make these giant cookies that are about the size of a pizza. You can have special birthday messages or designs written on them with frosting. I've had these before for my birthday, and if you like cookies, they're very good!
And there's always pie--that's what my friend who hates cake always has for her birthday.
I think you should make (or buy) her whatever her favorite dessert is though. You can probably customize it if you want to make it birthday related. =]

Pancakes: Make pancakes of all different flavors...good toppings include whipped cream, peanut butter, caramel, pineapples, cherries etc...like a sundae without the ice cream! You could also make waffles
Caramel fondue: Melt caramel in a big pot and dip cut up apples, cut bananas, pieces of pound cake, pretzels, angel food cake, pieces of pancakes or waffles, mini donuts, peanut butter cookies

How about a fruit pizza? Take a roll of sugar cookie dough, let it soften and spread it out so it fits a pizza pan. Bake it long enough (I don't have the recipe in front of me, but it will be slightly longer than the cookies would take - and maybe turn the oven down 25 degrees) and let it cool.
When it's cool, cover it with a can of frosting, then decorate it with slices of fruit (include exotics like kiwi), coconut, sweet chips, whatever they would like.
You might also be able to make this into an activity for the party, if there are only a few participants: make as many large cookies as there are attendees and let them decorate their own.

First of all this is not a joke. Go to a farm supply store or call one. Ask them if they have the real product that is used on cows udders that is referred to as udder balm. (some stores have a product that is marketed as udder balm but is made for humans, this stuff is the real deal that I am describing) This is the best cream you will ever find for dry skin and almost nobody except farmers know this. This stuff is so good that if you have cracked skin from winter weather it will heal your hands even if you work outside. It usually comes in a pretty big jar because the people buying it need more than just a little so if you get some, also get some nice little containers to put it in and place them where you are likely to see them and use them often. This stuff does not have all of the crap in it that other creams have in order to enhance its sales such as perfume or whatever. It has almost no scent and what it has is a nice scent. I exfoliate with cold water and wahcloth to rub away dry skin, then use cold cream. My skin is the same way and cold cream makes my skin feel smooth and refreshed and the dry skin goes away.
I use CoCoa Butter for moisturiser. It works really well. Its not that expensive you can get it at a Pharmasy. ( not sure if I spelt that right )
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing lotion is great for day. It also has SPF.

If you listen to every Tom, Dick, and Haryy, it's hard to tell what will happen. Call them asap, and they know best.

I'm 24 year old female and i don't want to be the one person that doesn't use face cream and look 90 when i'm 60, lol. My pours are sometimes both oily or dry, depending on the day. A cream that is not too expensive. A cream that is night, morning or once a day, please give me your opinion. I'm not one for wearing to much make-up, and i get acne around that time of the month. So whatever you do, look first for a day cream with SPF of at least 20 and you are on your way. For summer AND winter, because it will best protect your skin against sun damage and the environment. Garnier and L'Oreal are both good and easy to find, and both have a good range for each age group so give those a go to start with.
Personally I prefer Garnier because they use a bit more natural ingredients, and are not too greasy - but everybody's skin is different. As long as you buy a day cream with SPF, just keep changing them until you find one that you really like. The Body Shop are also a good place to try, the staff will help you but don't let them sell you things you don't really need.
At your age, don't worry too much about night cream - unless your face is really dry when you wake up in the morning, you can wait until you're in your 30s to start using night cream. If you start getting wrinkles around your eyes, use an eye cream for night, after cleansing the face in the evenings.
Exfoliate / use face scrubs no more than once a week, do not wash your face with water too hot or too cold. If you use pore strips (which by the way are fantastic) make sure you rinse your face with cold water afterwards to close the pores.
And always remember to put SPF day cream on your neck (and also on your chest if you wear low-cut tops) - oh and take very good care of your lips. Use a lipbalm or lipgloss with SPF too.

Garnier and L'Oreal are both good and easy to find, and both have a good range for each age group so give those a go to start with.
Personally I prefer Garnier because they use a bit more natural ingredients, and are not too greasy - but everybody's skin is different. As long as you buy a day cream with SPF, just keep changing them until you find one that you really like. The Body Shop are also a good place to try, the staff will help you but don't let them sell you things you don't really need.
At your age, don't worry too much about night cream - unless your face is really dry when you wake up in the morning, you can wait until you're in your 30s to start using night cream. If you start getting wrinkles around your eyes, use an eye cream for night, after cleansing the face in the evenings.
Exfoliate / use face scrubs no more than once a week, do not wash your face with water too hot or too cold. If you use pore strips (which by the way are fantastic) make sure you rinse your face with cold water afterwards to close the pores.
And always remember to put SPF day cream on your neck (and also on your chest if you wear low-cut tops) - oh and take very good care of your lips. Use a lipbalm or lipgloss with SPF too.

Yep!! We got a huge tub of vanilla and let everybody choose their own toppings. We had choc syrup, strawberry syrup, chopped nuts, caramel and whipped cream in a can.

I've looked at creams to help with the ';wrinkles/aging'; process. I am 38 years old and they seem to be getting bigger by the week. My mum also finds it doesn't work, and many have made her skin worse.

I have a sensitive skin , and recently i am getting pimples my dermatologist said it a genetic change in this age . now i want to purchase Burt's Bees day cream product for my face that would replenish my skin.
Which of these would be better Burt's Bees Carrot nutritive day cream or Radiance day cream.

Whenever I increase my calories from a deficit, I always gain water weight. Your water weight can fluctuate by quite a bit, which could fully explain your weight gain right there.

Scale is a great indication of weight loss, but you have to use it as an indicator only.
You can gain ';weight'; by drinking lots of fluids, but not gained any fat. If you hop on scale after being in sauna, you would've lost ';weight'; on scale but not necessary shed any body fats.
Try not to be too influenced by it.
It's more important to focus on over all calorie intake and health. If you don't have muscle, you'll gain weight easy. You need to be exercising and building muscles to create body that can burn fat fast.
Losing weight isn't easy. Make sure you aren't ';treating'; yourself too often. Once a week and make sure it's in moderation.
You also shouldn't be starving yourself. If you are on 1200 calories diet, which is very minimum, your food should be mainly vegetables. It's very easy to add up to 1200, but you need to be eating and feeding your body with enough nutrients, so it doesn't feel ';hungry';. If you are starving your body, it will go on ';save'; mode and start storing fat.
lets say you eat 1200 calories one day because u skip breakfast or something and the next day you get 1800 calories your body sees this up and down calorie intake and is like wtf? so is takes the extra calories from the 1800 calorie day and stores them as fat

Good Day Cream?
Hi, I am 28 yrs of age and have a dry skin. I've been using Boots Botanics day cream for soemtime n it was really good. But now, i don't feel my skin nourished ...maybe age is catching up :) Could you please suggest me a good day cream for dry skin and also that illuminates my skin...

I've heard that night creams are very good for restoring the skin at night because when one is sleeping the body is repairing itself (so to speak) I don't wear a night time cream just a day time but I was thinking about wearing a night time cream because I've heard it's meant to be good. Having said that I watched a documentary about skin creams and if it doesn't contains SPF in it then it really won't work. I'm not sure what to believe anymore.

Here is a recipe for my favorite ice cream.
1 can of evaporated milk (12oz)
1/2 cup of sugar
1 cup of crushed pineapple
1 large ripe banana mashed
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Place all the ingredients in a bowl. Mix to combine. Use a zip-lock sandwich bag and a freezer bag. Put about a cup of the ice cream mixture into the sandwich bag. Seal tightly. Put the sandwich bag into the freezer bag fill the bag with ice. Add about 1/8 cup of salt. Shake for about 20 minutes, use a towel because it will get cold. When the ice cream is frozen, take out the sandwich bag and rinse quickly under cold water. Cut a corner off the end of the bag and squeeze out the ice cream.
You can also use two coffee cans. This is really fun! Fill a small coffee can about 3/4ths the way full with the ice cream mixture. Put on the lid and use strong tape to seal. Place into a large coffee can. Fill the can with ice and add about 1/4 cup of salt. Tape the large can shut. Roll back and forth on the floor for about 20 minutes to 1/2 hour...depending on the room temperature. Remove the small can and rinse under cold water to remove the salt, open and enjoy! I bought this machine at bed and bath= you can keep liner in freezer to be ready when you want it, but you put yogurt in this machine with cold liner, add berries, honey and you have a good for you frozen yogurt, soy milk or what ever also and its an ice cream type thing. Frozen daquiris also. But I also make this frozen yogurt from martha stewart and keep it in the freezer in ice cube trays covered up with foil. Yogurt, oj, strawberries any berry, and sweetner slightly blend, pour into ice cube tray. I serve kids on overnights this yrs ago and they demand their mothers call me for the recipe! Check it out on marthas web site.

Try pouring fruit juice (pineapple, orange, strawberry, etc.) into an ice tray, get if cold and hard then put cubes into a blender and add a cup of cream or whole milk turn on the blender until a mush is made and then serve in a bowl. The taste will be sweet and fruity with the consistency of ice cream.

What you will need:
2 freezer bags (one has to be smaller then the other one)
In the small freezer bag:
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1 cup of milk
2 tablespoons sugar
4 tablespoons pure cream
In the big freezer bag:
25 ice cubes (if big cubes put 15, if small put 25)
5 tablespoons iodized salt (if normal salt, put in 10 tbsp)
Gather all ingredients.
Put the ingredients in each bag as specified. After, close the small bag, sealing well so that there are no leaks, and put it into the big bag.
Mix the contents of the bags well for at least 10-15 minutes. It should be thick and creamy. If so, then remove contents of inner bag and serve.
If the inner bag's contents are still liquid, put some more ice cubes and salt in the outer back and rub the two of the bags together longer.
make a simple cooked custard recipe then put it into a bread pan and freeze it (be sure to put a piece of wax paper directly on top of the custard or it will pick up some funky tastes).
there are usually recipes on kosher salt packages, when you make it with a plastic bag. it turns out pretty good.
take some kool-aid, put it into an ice tray, freeze it, and when it's frozen, put it in a blender and you have some fun slushees.....!!!!

Try this it is very tasty and fast.
WHAT YOU NEED:
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
3 beaten egg yolks
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
and
2 cups chilled whipping cream
(To make a different flavor)
chocolate syrup(use to liking) for chocolate ice cream
or
2 cups of strawberries for strawberry ice cream
HOW TO MAKE:
Put the sugar, salt, and milk into the top pan of a double boiler. The water in the bottom part of the double boiler will boil, and the temperature will never rise above the boiling point of water. This ensures that we don't overcook the mixture, even if we get distracted.Stir the 3 beaten egg yolks into the milk and sugar.Cook the mixture over boiling water until you can see bubbles forming around the edges of the mixture.The mixture is done when it is somewhat thick, and coats the spoon.Let the mixture cool to room temp.When it has cooled, stir in the vanilla extract and the heavy whipping cream.The fun part is about to begin. This is where having a bunch of kids to help is really nice.Pour a cup of the ice cream mixture into a plastic zip-lock sandwich bag.Zip the bag closed, and put it into another sandwich bag for safety, and zip that one closed as well.Fill a gallon size food storage zip-lock bag about one third full of ice cubes. Add a cup of salt (we used rock salt, but any kind will do).Zip the large bag closed, and wrap it in a towel to keep fingers from getting too cold.
Make a bag for everyone (this recipe will make enough for three or four servings, and you can double or quadruple the recipe if you are having a party).
Now have each person squish the little bag around in the salt and ice, making sure that the ice contacts the little bag as much as possible, and that the little bag gets lots of kneading, to keep the ice crystals tiny, so the ice cream is very smooth.
The kneading stage takes 10 minutes. You can let the ice cream sit in the ice for another 5 minutes if you like harder ice cream, although continuing to knead it for the extra 5 minutes is also OK to do if you're having fun. You will know the ice cream is done by feeling the mixture become a paste instead of a liquid. When you take the little bag out of the ice, wipe off the salt water, and then remove the outer bag carefully, so you don't get salt in the ice cream. The little bag will stand up in the bowl, because it is a frozen paste.You can spoon the ice cream into a bowl if you like, or just eat it out of the bag.

Try pouring fruit juice (pineapple, orange, strawberry, etc.) into an ice tray, get if cold and hard then put cubes into a blender and add a cup of cream or whole milk turn on the blender until a mush is made and then serve in a bowl. What you will need:
2 freezer bags (one has to be smaller then the other one)
In the small freezer bag:
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1 cup of milk
2 tablespoons sugar
4 tablespoons pure cream
In the big freezer bag:
25 ice cubes (if big cubes put 15, if small put 25)
5 tablespoons iodized salt (if normal salt, put in 10 tbsp)
Gather all ingredients.
Put the ingredients in each bag as specified. After, close the small bag, sealing well so that there are no leaks, and put it into the big bag.
Mix the contents of the bags well for at least 10-15 minutes. It should be thick and creamy. If so, then remove contents of inner bag and serve.
If the inner bag's contents are still liquid, put some more ice cubes and salt in the outer back and rub the two of the bags together longer.
make a simple cooked custard recipe then put it into a bread pan and freeze it (be sure to put a piece of wax paper directly on top of the custard or it will pick up some funky tastes).
there are usually recipes on kosher salt packages, when you make it with a plastic bag. it turns out pretty good.

WHAT YOU NEED:

3 beaten egg yolks

This ensures that we don't overcook the mixture, even if we get distracted.Stir the 3 beaten egg yolks into the milk and sugar.Cook the mixture over boiling water until you can see bubbles forming around the edges of the mixture.The mixture is done when it is somewhat thick, and coats the spoon.Let the mixture cool to room temp.When it has cooled, stir in the vanilla extract and the heavy whipping cream.The fun part is about to begin. This is where having a bunch of kids to help is really nice.Pour a cup of the ice cream mixture into a plastic zip-lock sandwich bag.Zip the bag closed, and put it into another sandwich bag for safety, and zip that one closed as well.Fill a gallon size food storage zip-lock bag about one third full of ice cubes. Add a cup of salt (we used rock salt, but any kind will do).Zip the large bag closed, and wrap it in a towel to keep fingers from getting too cold.
Make a bag for everyone (this recipe will make enough for three or four servings, and you can double or quadruple the recipe if you are having a party).
Now have each person squish the little bag around in the salt and ice, making sure that the ice contacts the little bag as much as possible, and that the little bag gets lots of kneading, to keep the ice crystals tiny, so the ice cream is very smooth.
The kneading stage takes 10 minutes. You can let the ice cream sit in the ice for another 5 minutes if you like harder ice cream, although continuing to knead it for the extra 5 minutes is also OK to do if you're having fun. You will know the ice cream is done by feeling the mixture become a paste instead of a liquid. When you take the little bag out of the ice, wipe off the salt water, and then remove the outer bag carefully, so you don't get salt in the ice cream. The little bag will stand up in the bowl, because it is a frozen paste.You can spoon the ice cream into a bowl if you like, or just eat it out of the bag.

I had that problem! I rubbed some tide or detergent on the spot itself and I washed it.

As long as you haven't washed and drid them already, then yes, it will. Treat the spot with Shout BEFORE washing, then wash them in cold water. Inspect the spot before you dry them to make sure the stain came out. If it didn't treat them again and wash them one more time before drying.
Don't use warm or hot water. It will set the stain. Only use cold.
try rubbing in some hair shampoo.
NOt really for sure. I'd try to blot it with a warm, wet washcloth, then soak the area with SHOUT. Let the stain remover sit for awhile, then wash it.

It should come out. Pre-treat it first with laundry detergent and then wash on warm.

theres only one way to find out
soak the stain with liquid tide and work it in with an old toothbrush. I mean really soak it up and gently work the toothbrush on both sides of the stain. Then rinse with COLD water and do it again. After you do this a couple of times, wash the pants normally but use cold water.
Try using Pine-sol
Wet fabric put Pine-sol on the stain, let sit in sun for 30 minutes then wash.
