No one really remembers all the artist says because you are too high about the tattoo to really listen, this is why it is essential for WRITTEN after care instructions.

Don't cover it. When people get home they should remove bandages, wash it and use whatever aftercare product they were instructed to use. Depending on where the tattoo is, many choose to wear an old cotton t shirt to bed so as not to get aftercare products or excessive ink on their sheets at night.Do i keep my brand new tattoo covered up for the first few days with the cream underneath?
DO NOT cover your tattoo over night!! you are only suppose to cover it up for a few hours after you get tattooed. Tattoos need to breathe in order to heal. Also, I am a big fan of lubriderm lotion or A%26amp;D ointment as a cream to ease the dryness. Only put on a thin layer, because if you smother the tattoo you will get pimples or bumps in it. it should heal just fine in about a few days. like4-5 days and be completely healed in a week. depending on how big the tat is.
You leave it covered for a few hours after getting it done. Then don't cover it again. Keep using the cream for a few weeks.
I wouldn't cover it up. Your skin needs to breathe. Our routine is to lightly wash it once a day and keep it moisturized with a non scented lotion. Good luck.
